SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. (WMTV) - It’s another year of not-too-scary fun outside a Sun Prairie home. A creepy, under-the-water adventure is seen on the lawn this year.
“It’s hundreds of hours gluing coins, painting, listening to books,” said Aaron Vokoun. “I think the thing that really excites me is the experimentation of it and trying new things.”
Vokoun started the tradition five years ago while living in Chicago, and the tradition followed to Silverado Drive in Sun Prairie.
In 2022, the family’s yard boasted displays of Dr. Frankenstein’s Lab , the year prior it was pirate-themed and in 2023, the yard had a healthy mix of the two, including a cemetery addition.
Figuring out what the annual display will look like takes months, with brainstorming starting in January.
