SRINAGAR : Two persons from Baniyari Hajin village of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district had a narrow escape on Thursday evening after a Shikara they were traveling in capsized in the River Jhelum near Hatishah Bridge in Sopore area of Baramulla district of North Kashmir. Officials said the incident took place when the boat lost balance midstream, throwing both individuals into the cold waters of the Jhelum. Responding swiftly, personnel from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), assisted by Sopore Police, launched a rescue operation and managed to pull both men to safety after a brief struggle.
