Country singer Lee Greenwood backed House Speaker Mike Johnson’s bid for him to replace Bad Bunny in the upcoming Super Bowl 2026 halftime show.

The 82-year-old told Page Six on Thursday that he “agree[s] with Speaker Johnson” that he “would make a great performer for any Super Bowl show.”

The Grammy winner cited his previous performances for “various NFL teams every year, especially during their Salute to Service games” — and pointed out that he will be at a Dallas Cowboys game next month.

“I am always thrilled to perform the anthem or ‘God Bless The U.S.A.’ during the games,” he continued, noting that he could get the crowd going before Bad Bunny, born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, hits the field.
