On Thursday, the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) decided to investigate pharma companies manufacturing syrup across the country and conduct sample testing in the same matter. So far, 24 children have died in Madhya Pradesh due to poisonous cough syrup.
According to reports, the government has asked all states and union territories to form a list of companies manufacturing cough syrups so that their quality and safety can be tested.
The CDSCO informed the World Health Organization (WHO) that the sale and production of three syrups—Coldrif, Resprifresh-TR, and Relife—have also been banned in the market.
