President Donald Trump announced Wednesday that Israel and Hamas have agreed to the first phase of a peace plan , pausing fighting and allowing for the release of all hostages.
Yassar Dahbour from the Palestine American League in Sacramento described the deal as bittersweet.
"It's two years too late — 70,000 people dead, too late. Over 90% of Gaza's infrastructure is erased. Life will never be the same. It's too late," said Dahbour.
The Jewish Federation of Los Angeles welcomed the news of the agreement, stating, "We hope this is the start of a new era of healing, recovery, and rebuilding. We will not relent until every remaining hostage is home and the war is over."
