NEW YORK — Before the postseason began, Yankees manager Aaron Boone said this season's team was one of the most talented he has managed since he took the helm in 2018.

Despite having the presumptive American League MVP in Aaron Judge, filling in gaps with former All-Stars in Max Fried, Cody Bellinger, Paul Goldschmidt and getting hot down the stretch heading into the postseason, the Yankees met a premature end on Wednesday night in the Bronx.

The Blue Jays proved to be the Yankees' kryptonite throughout the regular season and into the playoffs. The Yankees, who finished the regular season with 94 wins including eight straight to finish the campaign, met their season-ending fate in a 5-2 loss to the Blue Jays in Game 4 in the American League Division Seris at Yankee Stadium.
