CORRIGAN, Texas (KTRE) - The Corrigan-Camden Bulldogs are looking to start district play with a win as they travel to Groveton for a rivalry game with the Indians.

The Corrigan-Camden community has been dealing with the loss of sophomore Danny Rivera. Rivera collapsed on the sidelines of a game on Sept. 26, and the ISD announced he died Oct. 4. Head Coach Brett Ratliff says the team needs to get back in a routine.

“At the end of the day, it’s not an off week, it’s an open week. It’s time to work on ourselves and get better,” Ratliff said. “It’s district time. It’s a rivalry game and at the same time we need to get back to some normalcy. So, we’re excited about this game right here.”

Corrigan-Camden and Groveton are set to kick off Friday at 7 p.m.
