Millions of PC users are being warned that they may be at risk of being hacked after support for Windows 10 comes to an end next week.

On October 14, the operating system will stop receiving vital security updates - meaning it will no longer offer fixes, new features or security updates.

Users are being urged to update their PCs to Windows 11 for free - but many people with older devices that do not have the specifications needed to make the switch plan to keep using the outdated software despite the security risks, according to consumer group Which? .

While Windows 10 users can still use their PCS after support is switched off, users will no longer get important security updates.
