In a move that is sure to excite half of America and enrage the other, Amazon MGM Studios announced it will release “Melania” exclusively in theaters on Jan. 30, 2026. The documentary looks at First Lady Melania Trump , a polarizing and enigmatic political presence, and is directed by Brett Ratner, the “Rush Hour” filmmaker whose career was derailed by #MeToo allegations. Amazon shelled out a reported $40 million for the rights to the film, a staggering payday for a documentary.

In addition to announcing the release date, Amazon shared a first-look image from the film of the First Lady staring at a tarmac from the window of an SUV.
