USA Basketball is reportedly expected to name Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra as its next head coach ahead of the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup and 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, ESPN 's Shams Charania reports.

Spoelstra, 54, who had previously worked as an assistant, will reportedly succeed Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr , who initially worked as an assistant under former head coach Gregg Popovich at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and led the Americans to a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
