Actor Deepika Padukone has spoken out for the first time regarding her recent exit from 'Spirit' and 'Kalki 2898 AD'. Her exit from both films created a stir, with reports suggesting that Padukone requested set 8-hour shifts.
The 'Padmavat' actor has now challenged what she views as double standards within the Indian film industry. She opened up in a recent interview about how her request for fixed work hours has been received differently compared to her male counterparts.
In an interview with CNBC TV18 , Deepika stated, “By virtue of being a woman, if that comes across as pushy or whatever, then so be it. But it is no secret that a lot of superstars, male superstars, in the Indian Film Industry, have been working for 8 hours for years, and it's never made headlines!”
