A metro family spoke out on Wednesday about a recently retired Deer Creek Schools bus driver who was killed while riding his bike in Edmond on Tuesday morning.

Charles Rempel was riding his bike home from Panera Bread when his wife Elvera noticed his location stopped moving, she told News 9.

"And I thought, 'did he have trouble with his bicycle? Did he have a flat tire that he's going to fix? Did he meet somebody that he's visiting with?"

She figured everything was okay and went to Bible study. Hours later, she received the news from her daughter Heather, that Charles had been killed in an accident .

Police identified 75-year-old Charles Rempel as the victim of the accident, which happened at Covell and Broadway just before 7:30.
