CHICAGO, Ill. (WTVO) — A French company that specializes in quantum computing announced Thursday it will be establishing its U.S. headquarters in Chicago.

Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity joined leaders from Pasqal, a global leader in neutral-atom quantum computing, for the announcement.

The company plans to invest more than $65 million in the new U.S. location and create 50 full-time jobs. The facility will include space to house one of the quantum processing units on site. In addition, Pasqal has secured a $15 million Illinois loan to support the project.
