Mounties have arrested and charged a 20-year-old Edmonton man after hateful rhetoric was spray painted on an area seniors’ facility.

On Sep. 10, the RCMP Federal Policing Northwest Region’s Integrated National Security Enforcement Team (INSET) arrested and charged the Edmonton resident for hate-related offences, RCMP said in a Thursday news release.

Investigators from the RCMP, along with Edmonton city police, identified the man based on what they say was an online post claiming responsibility for the act which occurred at an Edmonton-area seniors centre.

Mounties say the man appeared in court Wednesday and was released with conditions pending future court appearances.
