Thousands of runners will be relieved to hear the Army 10-Miler will happen as planned this weekend, despite the government shutdown.
The race course, which runs through Arlington County and the District, sends runners through parts of federal land, so there were concerns that the race would be canceled.

Earlier this week, an email sent to the roughly 35,000 race registrants told them: "A decision of whether to cancel based on unforeseen circumstances will be made no later than October 8, 2025. You will immediately be notified once the decision is made."
That date came and went Wednesday, but a day later, organizers said they were "pleased to announce" that the race will "proceed as planned."
