BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division has charged a man with allegedly selling alcohol without a proper license.

Alfonso Darrell Ravenell, 63, of Berkeley County, is facing charges of unlawful possession of alcoholic liquors in place of business, first offense and failure to secure a required beer or wine sale permit.

The affidavit stated that he admitted to selling alcoholic drinks to customers at Lake City Event Center on Oct. 4. The venue did not possess an alcohol license or permit issued by the South Carolina Department of Revenue that is required to sell alcohol.

Agents investigated and conducted a search inside the establishment, in which they later took Ravenell into custody.

He was booked into the Florence County Detention Center.
