MEDINA, Ohio -- It was supposed to be a joyous time.

Our daughter, son-in-law and baby grandson were moving into their new home, along with their rambunctious, happy-go-lucky blue heeler/Australian shepherd mix dog and their quiet, laid-back calico tabby cat.

Ula had never stepped foot outside in all of her nine years. She had always been an indoor cat.

But somehow, in the midst of the chaos of the move, she fled into the back yard and disappeared from sight.

For THREE WEEKS.

Needless to say, my daughter and son-in-law were frantic and worried. They came back to the old house for weeks, hoping to lure her in with food, water and promises of safety and love.

They searched the neighborhood, posted “missing” flyers on light poles, sought help from social media.

Days went by. Weeks went
