Five telecommunication cables servicing the area north of Memorial Drive S.E. were damaged, resulting in the loss of phone, internet, and television services.
A man has been arrested after a copper wire theft in southeast Calgary disrupted phone, internet, and television services for around 1,200 residences and businesses.
Work through by the CPS General Investigation Unit, 40-year-old Justin Cecil Scott has been charged with mischief over $5000 and theft over $5,000.

On Aug. 5, Scott and a second suspect accessed a manhole in the alleyway near the 2600 block of Radcliffe Drive S.E., where it was believed that they cut telecommunication cables in an attempt to steal copper wiring.
