Each day the government shutdown continues marks another day of uncertainty for Bonita Williams, a federal worker, and her family.

Williams, who works for a government contractor cleaning a federal building, still receives her paycheck. However, four of her children who are federal workers are not getting paid.

“I’m the only one that’s working, so that means I have to try to help them out, as well as their kids. I mean, it’s like things that my grandkids are not going to be able to have,” Williams said.

The federal government shutdown has left many Maryland families facing financial uncertainty, with some federal workers bracing for their first missed paycheck on Friday.
