Interior Health’s interim president and CEO now has the job full-time.
Sylvia Weir has been appointed to oversee the health agency, which has a budget of nearly $4 billion and almost 30,000 employees.
She has had the job in an acting capacity since June when she took over from Susan Brown, who retired earlier than planned after IH became engulfed in questions about managerial competence following the temporary closure of the pediatric unit at Kelowna General Hospital.
