DALTON, Ga. (WDEF) — Multiple people were injured in a stabbing Thursday afternoon in the Dawnville community.

Whitfield County officials say it began as a call to a home at 3001 Freedom Lane.

Family members reported they were trying to get a weapon away from a resident who was harming himself.

Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office reports multiple people were stabbed in the process.

One of the victims was airlifted to a hospital while the others were transported by ambulance.

Officials say there is no on-going threat to the community.

The area has since been cleared, and traffic has resumed as normal through the area.
