UPDATE, 6.22PM OCTOBER 9 - THE STRIKES HAVE BEEN CALLED OFF, TRANSPORT BOSSES HAVE SAID

Around 1,900 bus drivers across Greater Manchester will walk out in a three day strike from tomorrow, transport bosses have confirmed.

Services across the region will be affected between Friday, October 10 and Monday, October 13, amid a row over pay involving Stagecoach and Metroline staff. It will mean around 190 services, including some school buses, will be cancelled.

It comes ahead of travel warnings being issued due to the Manchester Half Marathon, which equally takes place on Sunday (October 12), with a significant number of road closures in place, meaning spectators and participants may need to rely on public transportation.
