Mac Jones’ undefeated record has the NFL landscape buzzing. 

Can a backup quarterback lead the 49ers through the regular season? Is there quarterback controversy in San Francisco?  

Does that make the relationship between Jones and starting quarterback Brock Purdy awkward? General manager John Lynch addressed the relationship on KNBR’s “Murph and Markus.”

“A cool quality about Brock Purdy is he’s one of the most self-assured people in a very humble way,” Lynch said about the 49ers’ starting quarterback. “It’s hard to explain, but I think it’s one of the things that appealed to us.” 

Purdy has been sidelined for three games this season with a toe injury. Jones, given the opportunity with Purdy’s injury, has shone in his place for those three games.
