WILLIAMS TWP, MI — Funeral arrangements have been announced for an Auburn man fatally injured while walking along US-10.

Sheriff’s deputies about 2 a.m. on Oct. 5 responded to a vehicle-pedestrian crash on the highway near Garfield Road in Williams Township. They arrived to find Jamie R. Passinault, 39, lying near a guardrail in the median.

Emergency responders pronounced Passinault deceased at the scene.

Deputies determined Passinault had been walking on the highway when he was struck by a Ford F-250 pickup truck driven by a 17-year-old male. Deputies did not arrest the teen driver, who was still at the scene when they arrived.

Deputies do not believe alcohol or drugs were factors in the collision. It is unclear why Passinault was walking along the roadway at that hour.
