LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - While the Estacado Matadors (4-2) open district play Friday night against the Levelland Lobos (4-2), the two teams will also try to extend their three-game winning streak.

There also exists bragging rights between two former receivers Lyle Leong, who leads the Loboes, and Eric Ward, who coaches the Matadors.

“We’re blessed to do what we love, impact kids’ lives. We’re still friends. No matter what, we’ll always be friends,” Coach Ward said Thursday at Lubbock ISD’s weekly luncheon. “And so, we’re in a position where were going out there- putting our teams in the best situation to be successful.”
