Eight class-action lawsuits have been filed in the wake of a July data breach at a University of Iowa Health Care affiliate that may have compromised some general medical information for over 200,000 patients.

Each of the eight plaintiffs alleges that the July 3 data breach compromised "a wide swath of highly sensitive information," including names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, health insurance information, health care providers and the types of medical visits they had.
