A South Carolina couple has sparked outrage over their elaborate Halloween display that makes their home appear as if it’s on fire.
Sam Lee and Amanda Riggins Peden, of Fountain Inn, S.C., told Today.com that the local fire department received three or four calls from concerned residents who believed their house was ablaze.
The intricate decorations show orange and yellow lights imitating flames from every window of the home, all of which is accompanied by thick plumes of smoke coming out from under the porch.
Peden shared a video of their home on Facebook to assure neighbours that the display was merely a spectacle of their love of the scary day.
“Our house will be on fire (not real fire) as Halloween decorations every night from 8-10 p.m. between now and Oct. 31,” Peden wrote in
