Syracuse, N.Y. - The Rescue Mission is expanding its downtown Syracuse campus to include a new $11 million building that will house retail shops , storage space and offices.
Called the Mission Exchange Building, the 45,000-square-foot, two-story building will be built on a vacant lot at 120 Seymour St., adjacent to the non-profit’s headquarters at 155 Gifford St.
State - including Secretary of State Walter Mosley - and city officials joined Rescue Mission executives at the lot Thursday for a groundbreaking ceremony.
The building is expected to be completed by December 2026.
The building will include a 3fifteen thrift store on the first floor and offices upstairs, along with a warehouse on the backside that will be used to process donated goods. Those goods will then be resold at th
