U.S. President Donald Trump’s Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff, and his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi are acknowledging the importance of all sides working together to reach the ceasefire deal with Israel and Hamas.

In a video released by the Egyptian Presidency Thursday, Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi welcomed the ceasefire deal and said it would not have happened without President Trump.

"When he said it was time to stop the war, it was the sign to everybody that this was possible," he said.

He also called for Israel to stop firing until the deal we reached is signed.

US Envoy Witkoff said that he and Kushner would work with the Israelis on the implementation plan of the deal.

Kushner thanked the Egyptian president and other mediators for their role in the negotiations but also said the Israelis compromised on deal.

"Prime Minister Netanyahu and Ron Dermer were very flexible. They really made some big compromises and took some risks in order to see an end to this. And they did it because they wanted the war to end," he said.

El-Sissi also spoke with President Trump on phone, the Egyptian presidency said. The statement said el-Sissi "stressed the need to move forward toward implementing the ceasefire agreement."
