At 2:37 p.m. on Thursday, the National Weather Service released a freeze warning valid from 11 p.m. until Friday 9 a.m. for Oneida, Onondaga, Steuben, Schuyler, Chemung, Tompkins, Madison, Cortland, Chenango, Otsego, Tioga, Broome, Delaware and Sullivan counties.

The weather service says to expect, "Temperatures will fall into the mid 20s to lower 30s tonight into early Friday morning."

"Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing," adds the weather service. "Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold."
