U.C. marathon to serve as major race qualifier

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - A major announcement for the inaugural University of Charleston marathon came this morning.

Runners will be eligible to submit their times to potentially qualify for several major marathons.

Organizers say the course will be flat, meaning fast times.

And because of that, they’re expecting many of the top runners from across the world.

The marathon will take place on April 12.
