ST. ALBANS, W.Va. (WSAZ) - Six West Virginia sites have been added to the National Register of Historic Places.
They’re scattered throughout the Mountain State.
One of the six is the Carter G. Woodson School in St. Albans.
The school operated as an African American school from 1912 to 1940, and was later designated as a meeting hall for the American Legion.
The Spencer Commercial Historic District in Roane County was also added to the National Register of Historic Places, which celebrates history and heritage.
