ROSEMONT, Ill. – Indiana coach Darian DeVries was asked about his offensive philosophy Thursday at Big Ten Media Days.
His answer and his subsequent breakdown of the Hoosiers' offensive potential was likely beyond the wildest dreams of some IU fans who have clamored for years for a more up-tempo, wide-open attack.
"Philosophically, we love to shoot 3s," the first-year Indiana coach said. "That’s what we believe in, that’s what we recruit to. This year’s team was put together with the idea that we want to have a lot of guys who can really shoot it, a lot of guys that really understand how to play, have a great IQ, unselfish. Then we’ll recruit to that moving forward.
"I just believe if you have a group that’s willing to play together and they can all shoot it, it makes you really challen
