For most people, a town budget is something you never read unless you have to. Woodstock’s finance team has spent the last few years trying to change that by turning spreadsheets into stories about how the town grows, spends, and saves.

The Government Finance Officers Association has awarded Woodstock both its Distinguished Budget Presentation Award and Popular Annual Financial Reporting Award, national honors recognizing governments that make complex finances clear and accessible to the public.
