ROCKLAND, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Rockland High School was placed on lockdown Tuesday night after children reported seeing what they believed was a gun, but no charges were filed following a sheriff’s investigation.

The Power County Sheriff’s Office received a call just before 8 p.m. reporting a man allegedly brandishing a gun at a group of children. At the time, Hagerman’s varsity volleyball team was playing Rockland in the school gymnasium.

A group of children had entered the yard of a neighbor near the school, according to the sheriff’s office. The neighbor allegedly yelled at the children, and when they began to run away, one of the kids thought they saw a gun.

The children ran back into the gymnasium, prompting school officials to initiate a lockdown. Deputies responded to investigate
