ATHENS, W.Va. –Concord University is extending their metro tuition for students from Virginia.

In a news release Thursday afternoon, the university announced the Board of Governor’s approved of a measure that gives Virginia students in-state tuition.

The Two State-One Rate campaign is set to cut the tuition and fees for Virginia students to roughly $9,464 for the 2025-2026 school year. This helps bolstered the university’s position as one of the most affordable options in the Appalachian regional.

“We are thrilled to extend a metro tuition rate to our neighbors in Virginia. Many of our Virginia students live less than 20 minutes from our beautiful campus, and this initiative ensures they can access a high-quality, affordable education close to home,” CU’s President Bethany Meighen said.
