FALL RIVER, Mass. (WPRI) — The man convicted in connection with a deadly double shooting in Fall River four years ago will spend the rest of his life behind bars, according to Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn III.

Jeremy Holmes, 23, was found guilty last November of two counts of first-degree murder and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Holmes, who was 18 at the time of the murders, received two consecutive sentences of 25 years to life in prison with the possibility of parole, as is required by state law.

Holmes shot and killed 14-year-old Miguel Sanjurjo and 29-year-old Jovaughn Antonio Mills near Griffin Park on May 18, 2021, according to Quinn. He also shot and wounded a 19-year-old man, who survived but invoked his 5th Amendment privledge during the court process.
