WILKES-BARRE — In response to a resident’s complaint, council will consider amending its ordinance to limit school buses from parking on city streets from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

At council’s regular meeting on Thursday, in which no items were on the agenda, Councilmember Stan Mirin told council that several other municipalities, like Forty Fort and Plymouth, have ordinances that regulate when buses can park on streets and that something similar could benefit Wilkes-Barre residents.

Council Chairman Tony Brooks suggested they give those ordinances to council’s solicitor, Tim Henry, to review.

Resident Karen Giles, of South Sherman Street, brought the bus issue to Mirin.

“I do know it’s a major inconvenience to the residents of Wilkes-Barre, and I’d like to see it get resolved,” Giles said.
