SPENCER, W.Va. –This weekend marks the end of the 2025 Black Walnut Festival currently underway in Spencer.

The festival, now in its 71st year, celebrates the local black walnut tree and its products.

The final three days will be jam-packed with events, including craft shows, a chainsaw artist, the Kids Day Parade, live music, and more

Festival President Kate Gainer said the most anticipated event is the Grand Parade, which will take place at noon on Saturday.

“Which is probably the event that people are anticipating, you know we have 17 bands across the state of West Virginia that are coming to march in and then perform in our band and majorette competition afterwards,” Gainer said on MetroNews Midday Thursday afternoon.
