CBS said goodbye to one its “Matlock” stars , David Del Rio, after the actor was accused of sexual assault.

The network confirmed to Page Six Thursday that the actor “departed the series,” but declined further comment.

The actor’s absence from the show is said to have come after the studio launched an internal investigation that ultimately resulted in his departure, according to Deadline .

Production on “Matlock” has continued in his absence, and the series is still on track to take its scheduled break following the end of the current season’s first batch of episodes later this month.

Del Rio’s character, Billy Martinez, will be seen in the upcoming episodes that he already filmed, but will be written out of future episodes.
