New Delhi: The Women in Blue suffered a heartbreaking three-wicket defeat against South Africa in their third group-stage match of the Women’s Cricket World Cup in Vizag on Thursday, October 9.
Team India began the game strongly with the bat but crumbled under the pressure created by South African spin, collapsing from 55/0 to 153/7 as the middle order failed to fire once again.
Richa Ghosh scored 94 runs off 77 balls , which saved the Women in Blue and got them to a respectable total of 251. But Nadine de Klerk’s 84 helped South Africa to bounce back and secure the victory.
