KENTUCKY. (WKYT) - Kentucky officials are intensifying pressure on Gov. Andy Beshear to resume executions in the state, focusing on a decades-old case that has left a community seeking closure for more than 33 years.

Attorney General Russell Coleman called on Beshear on Tuesday to sign the death warrant for Ralph Baze.

Baze was convicted of murdering two Powell County law enforcement officers, Powell County Sheriff Steven Bennett and Deputy Arthur Briscoe, in 1992. He has remained on death row ever since.
