Alexandria, Virginia, is cracking down on serious crashes at a few intersections.

Officials are identifying so-called “crash corridors” in the city. They've been using data to figure out where the crash corridors are located.

It’s a small number of streets that have had the most serious collisions in Alexandria, including Duke Street and South Washington Street, Duke Street at Van Dorn Street, and King Street where it meets 395.

Alexandria police say in the past three Octobers, there have been 73 crashes with injuries — many of them at those crash corridors. This year, they are deploying extra resources to try to fix the issue.
