HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The state is inviting hunters to apply for the 2026 Lanai axis deer hunting season.

Officials said there will be four hunts: an archery hunt, a youth hunt, a muzzleloader hunt, and a general rifle hunt.

Applications open Monday, Oct. 13, and the deadline to apply is Friday, Nov. 14, at 4 p.m.

Applications are $10 and can be found here.

The state said all four hunts will be subject to a lottery drawing .

Officials said there will also be standby hunting opportunities for the general rifle hunt season may be offered and are dependent on application levels.

The state said low application levels for archery and general rifle season may result in one or more draws or weekends being eliminated.
