A week after a man was reported missing in Lake Michigan off of Chicago’s Rainbow Beach, a body was found Thursday afternoon.
According to Chicago police, the body was recovered from the water at approximately 2:48 p.m. in the 7000 block of South South Shore Drive.
The Marine Unit pulled the body from the water, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The discovery comes a week after a man was reported missing at Rainbow Beach, according to authorities. A woman was also reported to be in the water during that incident, and she was rescued from a breakwall in the lake, according to authorities.
The man’s body has not yet been identified, and an investigation remains underway.
