MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Shining a light against the darkness of cancer.
The community came together Thursday for the Light the Night event at Henry Vilas Zoo in Madison.
Hosted by Blood Cancer United, the gathering was a time for people to celebrate, honor and remember those touched by blood cancers.
WMTV’s Sports Director Mike ‘Jocko’ Jacques was the emcee of the event for the 10th year.
“It’s a great venue and opportunity for people to just kind of meet people where they’re at and support each other because it is a wide range,” said Sam Blahnik, who is the corporate chair for the event.
All the funds raised during the event will go ward life-saving blood research around the world and give free information and support services.
