ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque sports training facility, where thousands of young athletes train, is recovering from a damaging fire. "That's our home, that's our place, that's where we practice, I mean, like I was supposed to be there today, so just not having somewhere to go, it was really upsetting to me," said Brooklynn Eardly, a softball player who trains at The Lab.

The Lab is a long-time sports business owned by Jimmy Gallegos. He coaches kids in several different sports, including softball at La Cueva High School. Gallegos started his business nearly a decade ago and moved into the North Valley building a year ago. He discovered it in flames yesterday afternoon.
