BOISE, Idaho — Harvest season is underway across Idaho's wine country, where local vintners are transforming grapes into bottles that showcase the state's growing reputation in the wine industry.
Idaho wineries produce about 258,000 cases of wine per year — enough to pour more than 10 million glasses — according to the Idaho Wine Commission.
Will Wetmore, owner of Veer Wine Project, has been making wine for more than a decade. His Caldwell-based winery was recognized as the 2024 Idaho Winery of the Year.
"I got the opportunity to work a harvest for Hat Ranch Winery, and just kind of kept showing up and learning and learning and learning and taking on more and more responsibility," Wetmore said.
