Running the ball has been the strength of Edna Karr’s offense in 2025, and it was the ground game that set the tone in Thursday’s district matchup against Brother Martin.

Karr senior running back Tre Garrison broke free for a 43-yard touchdown on the second play of the game to give the Cougars an early lead. Karr went to score four more rushing touchdowns in what ended up a 48-13 rout of Brother Martin at Morris Jeff Stadium.

The other four rushing touchdowns were scored by Karr senior quarterback John Johnson, who also threw a touchdown pass to senior wide receiver Xavier Owens. Karr had three players with 70 or more rushing yards on the night.

“We’ve got a big offensive line, we’ve got two big backs,” Karr coach Brice Brown said. “We’re going to on lean on those guys to run the ball.
