BIBB COUNTY, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Defense attorneys for two suspects in a Bibb County child sex ring case are challenging a court order requiring DNA samples from all eight defendants, claiming the state’s request violates their clients’ constitutional rights.

Attorneys representing Dalton Terrell and Rebecca Brewer filed motions pushing back against the DNA collection order, arguing the state of Alabama failed to provide crucial details about the evidence gathering process.

The defense teams said the state requested hair, blood and urine samples, but did not specify which types of samples would be collected or detail the collection methods. Without these specifications, the attorneys argued their clients’ Fourth Amendment rights could be violated.
